[Seminary-Notes]
====================================
from Ken Alford...
====================================
Summer is a great time for students to "get a jump" on the
upcoming Seminary year. Each summer I like to challenge students to read the book of scripture for the coming year's Seminary study
(and then they can read it for a second time during the school year).
This summer students can be challenged to read the entire Doctrine & Covenants during their school break.
But since no two school systems seem to follow the same school schedule, each Seminary teacher has needed to create their own
summer schedule.
But not any longer...
You can download a free Doctrine and Covenants Reading Schedule Creator that will automatically create flexible Doctrine & Covenants
summer reading schedules (based on Starting and Ending Dates that you select):
- The 1st schedule lists the sections to read every day.
- The 2nd schedule lists which pages to read every day.
Both reading schedules are based on dates that YOU enter, and you
may enter any dates between June 1 and September 15, 2010.
This easy-to-use tool allows you the flexibility of creating as many different reading schedules as you can possibly need this
summer to meet the needs of all of your students.
If one student moves in during June and another student moves in during July, no problem just quickly create a new reading
schedule for them! If another student forgets to read and wants to start over, no problem! You can easily create reading charts
customized for each of your students.
You can download a free copy of the Doctrine & Covenants 2010 Summer
Reading Schedule Creator here.
The reading schedule creator is a Microsoft Excel .XLS spreadsheet file (so it will work with all versions of Excel 2000 or later).
To create a reading schedule, all you need to do is:
1) Enter your STARTING DATE
2) Enter your ENDING DATE
3) Print one (or both) reading schedules
The Doctrine & Covenants Summer Reading Schedule Creator schedules
reading for all sections in the Doctrine and Covenants.
Please note:
When you open the New Testament Summer Reading Schedule file, I recommend that you "Enable" macros (if you are asked) --
so that the built-in print options will work correctly. Printing is as easy as clicking one button.
An extended version of the Doctrine & Covenants Reading Schedule Creator is available
here
for just $3.50. The extended version lets you create D&C reading schedules up to 295 days long for any
dates you choose between June 2010 and December 31, 2011.
Best wishes,
Ken
