Scatter Puzzles
Fun for Seminary, Family Home Evening, and other gospel classrooms
To create a scripture mastery Scatter Puzzle:
- Select a scripture mastery scripture — for example: D&C 10:5 — principle, or doctrine.
- Find the matching scripture mastery keyword(s) — for example: “Pray Always”.
- Look up the scripture mastery keyword(s) in the Topical Guide — for example: “prayer, pray”.
- Make a list of scriptures that relate to your chosen scripture mastery scripture,
but do not include the answer. - Read the scriptures you have chosen to make sure they will make good clues.
(You can use references from all of the Standard Works or limit yourself to one book, as desired.) - Place the scripture references randomly on a page or board (see the D&C sample below).
- Ensure you record the scripture mastery answer for each scatter puzzle.
